Resident of The Plains faces multiple rape charges in connection with child pornography

ATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) — Authorities arrested a resident of The Plains and charged him with three counts of rape in connection with child pornography he allegedly created with a young girl.
Acting on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Athens County sheriff’s deputies got a warrant on Monday to search the home of 26-year-old Jonny L. Pryor.
The tip was that an Athens County man had been exchanging images and videos of a young girl through social media, and it appeared that he had created them. The girl was 9 years old, according to the sheriff’s office.
The case is still under investigation and more charges are expected to follow, according to the sheriff’s office.
Pryor is being held at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail on a $500,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday in Athens County Municipal Court. However, Pryor could be bound over to the Athens County Court of Common Pleas if a grand jury indictment is issued.
