The unofficial 2021 General Election results for Lawrence County

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WOUB) – The unofficial results for Lawrence County are in for contested races and levies. Voter turnout in the county was 21% with 8,976 ballots cast.
The race for Ironton City Council featured six candidates vying for four seats. The winners were Craig Harvey with 1,076 votes, Chris Perry with 997 votes, Nate Kline with 920 votes, and Bob Clearly with 734 votes.
The race for four seats on the Athalia Village Council was led by E. Denise Breen with 41 votes, Jason A. Chapman with 39 votes, Alexandria Swiger with 37 votes, and Meredith Hope Johnson with 35 votes.
The race for Coal Grove Village Council, with four open seats, was won by Kimberly McKnight, with 303 votes, Frederick Phillip Roush with 222 votes, Andy Holmes with 201 votes, and Gregory Massie with 192 votes.
The candidates winning trustee seats in Elizabeth township were Rickey Cox with 264 votes and Sadie Sparks with 245 votes.
The candidates taking the two trustee seats in Fayette township were Mike Jones with 738 votes and Mike Finley with 723 votes.
The race for two trustee seats in Perry township featured six candidates. The two winning candidates were Barry Blankenship with 464 votes and George Derek Rowe with 423 votes.
The township trustee race in Rome was won by Mark Bailey with 757 votes, and Brian Pinkerman with 670 votes.
The race for the two trustee seats in Upper township was won by Randall E. Wise with 986 votes and Tony Sites with 878 votes.
The two trustee seats in Windsor township were won by Norman R. Humphrey II with 245 votes and Robert E. Burcham with 226 votes.
Chesapeake village passed a 1.5 mill tax levy to fund the police with 55 votes in favor and 41 against. Multiple jurisdictions had tax levies to fund fire protection. The villages of Proctorville and Fayette, and Perry, Rome and Upper townships all voted in favor of these levies.
A 2.5 mill levy for current expenses in Proctorville passed with 34 votes in favor and 18 against.
The Lawrence County Joint Vocational School District levy passed with 4,822 votes for and 3,865 against.
