The Rebels raided Eastern’s nest and found a win
< < Back to the-rebels-raided-easterns-nest-and-found-a-winEastern Lady Eagles take a crushing loss against TVC conference rivals South Gallia Lady Rebels with a final score of 50-68.
The Eagles were in the game going into the half down 30-29. The third quarter was not kind to the Eagles and South Gallia took advantage, going on a 16-0 run to start the quarter and then finishing the quarter with a score of 23-5.
This outburst of scoring and lack of offense put the game completely out of reach for the Lady Eagles despite strong performances from Sydney Reynolds who had 19 points 8 boards, and 3 assists and Erica Durst who had 14 points, 8 boards, and 2 assist.
Coach Reynolds stated “Well in the third quarter we came out a bit flat. They attacked the rim there a couple of times and got to the line and got some easy buckets. We just couldn’t get anything going offensively that quarter and it seemed like everything they threw up went in. You know when you give up a 20 point quarter it’s hard to come back from that.”
South Gallias starting lineup all contributed to the blowout win. Starting with the shooting guard Tori Triplett who had 20 points 2 boards and an assist, Jessica Rutt with 17 points 7 boards and an assist, Emma Clary with 14 points 8 boards and 2 assist, Macie Sanders with 10 points 4 boards and an assist, and finally Lindsey Wells with 7 points and 3 assist.
The Eagles hope to get back on track against state ranked Trimble Tomcats.
