WOUB students have been nominated for college student production awards

ATHENS, OH – Ten current and former WOUB students have been nominated for three different Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences 2022 College Student Production Awards.
“We are very proud of the work our students produce to serve the 55-county, three-state region WOUB covers,” said WOUB Editor-in-Chief Atish Baidya. “To be recognized in this way is a testament to the time and effort students at WOUB dedicate to doing the very best they can for the people in our region.”
WOUB Students Lexi Lepof and Curtis Feder were nominated in the News Report or Sports Story/Segment category. Lepof’s nominated piece is called “Permitless Conceal Carry” and Feder’s is called “The Best Seat in the House.”
WOUB students Michael Roth, Nick Viland, Dylan Theisen, Ben Byers, Max Brunke and Claire Schiopota were nominated in the Sports Program or Live Sporting Event/Game category for episode 12 of Gridiron Glory season 22. Theisen, Byers and Schiopota, along with Jack Demmler and Adam Schlosser, were also nominated in the same category for episode 6 of Hardwood Heroes season 9. Demmler was nominated individually in the Talent – News or Sports category.
The recipients for the College Student Production Awards competition will be announced during a virtual ceremony on Sunday, September 18.
