Morgan moves to 3-0 for first time since 2007 with win over Philo

DUNCAN FALLS, Ohio (WOUB)- In a game where Morgan Hasn’t beaten Philo since 2007 and hasn’t gone (3-0) since 2007 came into Philo (1-1) looking to break the curse.
The teams has a very big difference in roster size and if you were to base it off of that you would think Philo would be dominate considering their 70 players to Morgan’s 30 players.
The first half would be a different story though as Morgan dominated pretty much the whole first half, They had a rough start to the game where they butchered the opening kick allowing Philo to recover it in their own territory but Morgan’s defense was cause havoc for Philo’s offense all first half, Philo would get the ball and go three and out punting it to Morgan, it would be a battle of the defense until Morgan’s second time with the ball they would go on to convert 4th & 11 on a pass to the sidelines and would set Morgan up for a 1st and goal at their own 5 yard line where Carson Copeland would score the only touchdown of the half in the 1st quarter.
After the touchdowns the defenses went to work with Kole Searl for Morgan picking off a pass and Philo getting an interception at Morgan’s two yard line.
Philo looked like they were about to score as they were driving down the field they threw a pass that was caught and ruled a touchdown just to get called back because of a facemask penalty on Philo, then Philo would kneel the ball to end the first half.
The start of the second half Philo started with the ball there first drive in the second half they would charge down the field and Case Fink would run the ball in for a one yard touchdown, They would go on to miss the extra point, to make it a 7-6 game with Morgan still being up.
The game would go onto end with the Final score being 7-6 to end the game, Philo had a chance in the fourth towards the end to take the lead but they were no match for Morgan’s defense and would turn over on downs.
Morgan is now 3-0 for the first time since 2007 and are on pace right now at the rate they are playing to have a winning season since 2007 as well. So far it feels like a new year for the Morgan Raiders.
