Elder emos relieved it’s finally not as cringey to love My Chemical Romance

CINCINNATI, Ohio (WOUB) — Invigorated by early aughts nostalgia and pop-punk resurgence, influential emo icons My Chemical Romance performed at Heritage Bank Center (100 Broadway, Cincinnati, OH) August 24, 2022. Many dedicated fans have waited since 2019 to catch the My Chem reunion tour, which, like so many other things, was up-ended by Covid in 2020.

Two great openers kicked off the show for MCR. First up was Dilly Dally, an alt-rock/grunge four piece from Toronto. Frontperson Enda Monks’ cutesy look – complete with pigtails and sparkly guitar – served a delightful contrast to raspy vocals layered with heavily distorted riffs.
