Here are the unofficial 2022 general election results for Tuscarawas County

TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio (WOUB) – Here are the unofficial results for contested races and local issues in Tuscarawas County.

Republican Kristin Zemis earned a position as County Commissioner with 71% of the vote. Zemis will serve a full term beginning in January 2023. Democrat Laurie Green earned 29% of the vote.

Republican Greg Ress also a position as a County Commissioner with 65% of the vote. Ress is filling the position of an unexpired term that will end in January 2025. Democrat Sam Hitchcock earned 35% of the vote.

Voters in Dover approved a levy for Dover City School District, 5.6 Mills for 10 years, by a vote of 3,600 to 2,605.

Another levy for Dover City School District, 6.5 Mills for 10 years, was also approved by a vote of 3,404 to 2,759.

Voters in New Philadelphia approved a levy for New Philadelphia City School District, 1 mill for 5 years, by a vote of 4,632 to 2,642.

A property tax replacement for the Tri-County Joint Ambulance District, 1 mill for 5 years, was approved by a vote of 1,388 to 704.

Tuscarawas County voters approved a property tax for the county’s Department of Developmental Disabilities, 1.7 mills for 10 years, by a vote of 20,595 to 8,627

County voters also approved a property tax renewal, 1 mill for 10 years, for the Tuscarawas County Health Department by a vote of 14,995 to 8,899.

Voters in the village of Baltic approved a fire property tax replacement, 3 mills, by a vote of 119 to 57.

Voters in the village of Barnhill voted down an additional operating property tax of 5 mills for 5 years by a vote of 38 to 32.

Voters in the village of Bolivar voted down a property tax replacement for police of 2 mills and increase 2 mills by a vote of 200 to 148.

Voters in the village of Strasburg voted down a police property tax for an additional 3.7 mills for 5 years by a vote of 557 to 460.

Voters in the village of Tuscarawas approved an income tax increase of 1.5% by a vote of 187 to 167.

Voters in Franklin Township approved a property tax renewal of 0.5 mill for 5 years for Grandview Union Cemetery by a vote of 1,094 to 672.

Voters in Jefferson Township approved a property tax renewal of 0.5 mill and increase 0.5 mill for 5 years for ambulance services by a vote of 271 to 113.

Voters in Lawrence township approved a property tax renewal, 2 mills for 5 years, by a vote of 1,008 to 854.

Voters in Sandy Township approved a property tax renewal of 2 mills for 5 years by a vote of 492 to 210.

Voters in Warren Township approve a property tax renewal for fire protection, 0.4 mill for 5 years, by a vote of 385 to 71.

Voters in Washington Township approved a property tax renewal, 2 mills for 5 years, by a vote of 172 to 61

Voters in Wayne Township approved a property tax replacement levy of 1.7 mills for Wayne Township fire protection by a vote of 293 to 189.

Voters in Wayne Township also approved a renewal tax levy, 3 mills for 5 years, for Wayne Township roads by a vote of 293 to 187

Voters in York Township approved a tax levy for York Township Ambulance, 1 mill for 5 years, by a vote of 426 to 137.
