WATERFORD, Oh (WOUB)- The 10 seeded Miller Falcons came into Waterford looking to upset the Waterford Wildcats in the first round of the playoffs.

The game started slow for both sides, as both defenses would hold strong on back to back 4th down stops.

With 37 seconds left in the first quarter, running back Dylan Taylor would take things into his own hands. He would take a handoff 40 yards to the endzone for the first score of the game. Wildcats 7, Falcons 0.

During the second quarter, the Wildcats would have a strong drive with Hayden Jones hitting his receivers in stride.

The Falcons would have trouble containing the Wildcat offense, and the drive would be capped off by Jones finding receiver Jacob Heis for a 3 yard toe-tap touchdown.

The Falcons couldn’t do anything after an interception from Nick Thompson, and the Wildcats would lead the Falcons 14-0 at the break.

Waterford came out of the half firing, as Dylan Taylor would again dismantle the Miller defense for a 60 yard touchdown to put the Wildcats up by 3 scores.

The Falcons however had an answer. After stalled drives, Quarterback Logan Doughty finds Nick Thompson in the endzone on a 4th and 9 to give the Miller fans life. The extra point however was blocked.

Waterford’s defense seemed to just be too much for Miller. After a turnover on downs from the Wildcats, their defense forced a tipped pass that would lead to an interception and 7 points.

Waterford would take a 28 to 6 lead with a playoff victory in sight.

In the late 4th quarter, both teams would find the endzone one more time, but that would be all she wrote in Waterford. The Wildcats take control of the game, and defeat Miller 35 to 6, thanks to a big game from Dylan Taylor.

The Wildcats will drive to Beaver, Ohio, to face the 10-0 Beaver Eastern Eagles. For the Miller Falcons however, their season unfortunately comes to and end.
