Virtuoso saxophonist Eric Darius wowed Cincinnati’s Ludlow Garage

CINCINNATI, Ohio (WOUB) – Sure, not many in the crowd Friday night at the Ludlow Garage (342 Ludlow Ave.) needed an introduction to virtuoso saxophonist Eric Darius – after all, he’s the musician they paid to see – but who can blame them for wanting one?
Darius delivered on this front – his introduction only came after each member of his band had been in the spotlight just long enough for the audience to get a taste of their sound. Then, with the bravado and class one would expect from a jazz virtuoso, the star of the show (Darius, obviously) made his appearance.
What followed was a night of swinging melodies, burning sax solos, and the kind of rhythm section that begs to be clapped along to.
