Businesses are preparing for the 19th annual Brew Week

ATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) — Athens Brew Week returns Friday and local businesses are preparing for a boost in sales.
Places like Crystal, Casa Nueva, J-Bar and Pigskin are hosting live music performances, kickoff parties, keg tappings and game nights for the nine-day festival.
That means cleaning, contacting breweries and scheduling enough staff.
Pigskin manager Corrine Wiles says it’s a busy week.
“It’s definitely by far one of our most profitable times of the year,” Wiles said. “With the students being gone in the summer, it’s pretty slow. For a week things really pick up and help us out in the summer.”
Wiles says she’s excited to welcome a new crowd to the bar and restaurant.
