A man has been indicted by a grand jury after allegedly threatening Ohio University students
< < Back to a-man-has-been-indicted-by-a-grand-jury-after-allegedly-threatening-ohio-university-studentsATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) — A man accused of threatening Ohio University students and illegally possessing an assault weapon was indicted Monday by the Athens County grand jury.
Michael Rinthalukay, 27, of Pickerington, is accused of possessing an AR-15 assault rifle while being prohibited from possessing firearms under Ohio law.
He also is accused of using social media to make threats to several groups of Ohio University students. His Instagram page included several videos of himself shooting an assortment of firearms, according to the Athens County prosecutor’s office.
Rinthalukay was taken into custody last week and is being held at the Franklin County jail. He will be transferred to the regional jail in Nelsonville and scheduled for an arraignment in the Athens County Court of Common Pleas.
