New Lexington dominates on offense against Meadowbrook
< < Back toNew Lexington, OH (WOUB)- A chilly night was nothing for the Panthers as they leapt to victory.
The Colts started the game with a strong kick to the Panthers, but the Panthers came back stronger when Myles Wilson ran the kick return for a touchdown just 12 seconds into the first quarter.
The Panthers tried for the PAT but unfortunately their attempt was unsuccessful. Through the next few plays, the Colts were still getting into their grove and were forced to punt.
After getting the ball back into their hands, Panther player Carson Kellogg drove through the Colts for another touchdown.
An attempt was made for a 2-point conversion but was met with an unsuccessful attempt. Colts players are geared up to keep fighting for ground but ultimately ended up with a turnover to the Panthers.
Hoping to breakthrough to for a third touchdown, they fell short, and the Colts got the ball as a result of a turnover.
Starting the second quarter off strong, Aiden Ferrel made a diving play into the end zone for the Colts to put their first points of the game on the board.
The PAT was completed by Hailey Arnold. Following this fast touchdown there was another fast touchdown by the Panthers.
Kellogg went down the field to the 4-yard line. Isaiah Stephens pulled a trick move and made a break for the end zone and gives a third touchdown to the Panthers with a good PAT following.
The score was Panthers 19 – Colts 7 but the quarter was still not over. Soon they were on the 25-yard line when things started to slow down. A pass was made to Braylon Lowery who jumped into the end zone. This play was followed by a PAT that was no good.
Finally getting close to the end zone, Stephens threw a touchdown pass to Owen O’Brien and then threw a 2-point conversion pass to Talon Schwendeman. At halftime the score was Panthers 34 – Colts 13.
The Panthers started the second half with a kick to the Colts who made a break but were held off by a flag.
There was a turnover in Panther territory, Stephens worked with his team to gain ground when he eventually scored his second touchdown followed by a successful PAT attempt.
Another turnover occurred when the Colts threw another interception to the Panthers. Fired up, the Colts applied pressure and were able to hold off the Panthers.
Tough runs were made but eventually Kellogg put more points on the board for the Patriots. Another successful PAT put the score at Panthers 41 – Colts 13.
Energy was up through the fourth quarter as the Colts fought to put more points on the board and this attempt was successful. With less than 3 minutes left in the game, Colt Brandon Lowery was able to put more points on the board with an unsuccessful PAT.
The game ended with a Panther win of Panthers 41 – Colts 19.
