Portsmouth West would begin with the ball but wouldn’t be the first to score. The first play of their drive was a fumble which was recovered by St. Bernard in Senator territory. The Titans capitalized immediately, as Demico Harris took it for a long rushing touchdown less than a minute into the first quarter.
The hosts wouldn’t be able to respond with points on the next drive, which led to a goal line stop. St. Bernard wouldn’t wait long to make another play, and Damien Dawson would start his massive day with a crazy broken tackle touchdown reception, the last points of the first frame.
The second quarter would start out with a Portsmouth West touchdown, this coming from Bo Wroten on a short rushing touchdown to cut the lead in half. Seven seconds later… Dawson was in the endzone again. He took off up, down, left and right all over the field and past all Senators defenders giving the Titans a 14 point lead back halfway through the second.
Portsmouth West would be able to keep it close in the first half using another long run drive to keep it close. This would be capped off with a Mason Parker touchdown, getting the lead back to seven nearing halftime. Just 30 seconds later, Damien Dawson would find his third touchdown of the four he accumulated over the course of the evening. This touchdown would set the score at 28-14 going into halftime.
In addition to Dawson’s fourth touchdown, Demico Harris would find the endzone again in the second half, his second score of the day.
St. Bernard would hold onto the lead and pull away in the second half using their almost unstoppable offense, taking this playoff matchup 49-21.
