South Gallia offense overcomes River Valley in road victory

BIDWELL, Ohio (WOUB) — After an offensive onslaught that was too powerful for River Valley to contain on its home turf, South Gallia would walk away with a 45-8 win.
From the opening drives, it was all South Gallia as it marched down the field, scoring within two minutes of kickoff on a 10-yard pass to WR Juda Cremeens. Shortly after the Raiders’ opening drive ended in a three-and-out. With possession again, the Rebels would score on a run by senior QB Hunter Wright. After the 2-point conversion failed, the Rebels led 13-0.
Things didn’t improve for River Valley as it fumbled the ball on the first play of the drive. South Gallia would make another trip to the end zone, this time courtesy of an 8-yard run from RB Konnar Winters, putting the score at 20-0.
Following another punt by the Raiders’ special team unit, the Rebels got back to work on offense. South Gallia wasted no time as it got into the red zone on a 29-yard keeper by Wright. The next play, RB Layne Wright would find pay-dirt with an 8-yard rush, putting the score at 26-0 before a missed PAT.
The Raiders fumbled the ensuing kickoff, which South Gallia recovered. Two plays later, they would score again on a 34-yard touchdown pass by QB Eli Sizemore to WR Layne White. The made PAT would make it 33-0 Rebels.
A few minutes later, after another punt by the Raiders, Sizemore would find Cremeens for a 65-yard touchdown. That score would be Cremeens’ second of the game, and following the blocked PAT, the score would be 39-0.
With three minutes left in the first half the Rebels would march down again and score on a 3-yard rushing touchdown by Wright, giving him a hat trick, putting his team up 45-0 with a missed PAT. With a running clock in the third quarter, no team did anything with the ball as the offenses would go dormant for the whole quarter.
The first eight minutes of the fourth quarter saw no action, but with just four minutes left in the game the Raiders would get points on the board after RB Cordai Craycraft dragged the River Valley down to the goal line. He’d muscle his way into the end-zone for a 3-yard rushing touchdown, getting the ball on the 2 point try to make the score 45-8, the game’s final score.
South Gallia will be be back at home to take on the 2-0 Eastern Eagles next week. For the Raiders they head on the road to face off against Symmes Vally who are 2-0 on the year.
