Youth Group Pushing Republicans On Gay Marriage Visits Ohio
< < Back to youth-group-pushing-republicans-on-gay-marriage-visits-ohioActivists who don’t want the Republican Party’s 2016 platform to oppose same-sex marriage will promote their effort in a swing through Ohio.
The Young Conservatives for the Freedom to Marry will have representatives in Cincinnati on Tuesday, followed by Columbus and Cleveland later this week. They’re talking about their “Reform the Platform” campaign ahead of the national GOP convention in Cleveland next year.
They say they’ve been in several states already, meeting with like-minded Republican activists and elected officials and trying to encourage young Republicans to go to the convention as delegates seeking a platform with inclusive and unifying language.
Their visit comes less than a month before the U.S. Supreme Court is scheduled to hear arguments April 28 about same-sex marriage bans in Ohio and three other states.
