Waterline Work Could Affect West Side of Athens, Athens Mall

The City of Athens will be completing two waterline repairs on Monday, according to a release by city administrators.
“There is a possibility of intermittent water outages for customers at the Athens Market on State complex on the city’s east side, as well as customers on the city’s west side, west of the Athens County Fairgrounds on and near W. Union St,” the release stated.
If a boil order is necessary, it will be issued upon completion of the repairs. Crews are taking steps to minimize service disruptions. Any questions about the work can be directed to the Engineering and Public Works Department at (740) 593-7636.
