With just two months to go until show time, Nelsonville Music Festival organizers have announced another round of acts, including garage-rockers The Black Lips and Americana singer-songwriter Tim Easton.

Other performers announced today include Bassholes, Wooden Indian Burial Ground, Weird Science, The Summoners, Darrin Hacquard, Ben Stalets and DJ Barticus & John E. Clift.

Those acts join a lineup that features headliners The Flaming Lips (Friday), Merle Haggard (Sunday), St. Vincent (Saturday), Trampled By Turtles (Thursday) and more than 40 other acts on multiple stages.

Atlanta’s Black Lips have been playing a mix of southern garage rock, punk rock and psychedelia since their 2002 debut. Since then, the band has toured internationally and released several acclaimed albums on the Bomp, In the Red and Vice labels.

East Nashville’s Tim Easton (an Akron native) is also slated to perform, along with legendary Ohio underground duo Bassholes, Portland’s garage-psych rockers Wooden Indian Burial Ground and West Virginia-via-Rockbridge, Ohio, songwriter Darrin Hacquard.

Ohio continues to be well-represented at this year’s fest with Athens bands Weird Science and The Summoners both making their NMF debut, in addition to Toledo songwriter Ben Stalets and a late-night campground DJ set from Athens’ DJ Barticus and John E. Clift of Columbus. More artist announcements will follow, according to a press release.

Now in its 11th year, the Nelsonville Music Festival continues to be “one of the best kept secrets of the U.S. festival cuircuit,” according to Billboard magazine. Set at Robbins Crossing Historical Village on the campus of Hocking College, NMF is one of the region’s most intimate, unique music events, featuring a “No-Fi” Cabin (unamplified performances in a small log cabin), The Gladden House (acoustic performances and interviews by WOUB on another cabin’s front porch), a medium-sized Porch Stage and the large Main Stage.

Other attractions include camping, kids’ activities, local artisan and food vendors and a beer garden. The Nelsonville Music Festival continues to work with Rural Action and their Appalachian Zero Waste Initiative to be a Zero Waste event, diverting almost 96.5% of the waste created during last year’s fest.
