The Ohio men’s golf team finished in 10th place at the 37th annual Rutherford Intercollegiate, shooting 305 in the third and final round and a 920 (+68) on the weekend.

Binghampton emerged with the best overall score in the tournament after posting a 287 in the final round, the lowest score any team recorded in an individual round all weekend.

The Bobcats’ leader for the entire weekend, Connor Coldwater, finished strong, shooting a 71 in the third round, his best round of the tournament. Coldwater went +9 through the three rounds of golf, good enough to be tied for seventh place overall.

Michael Lamping scored a 76, 77, and 79 in his three rounds of play, which put him in tied for 40th overall at +19. Among those tied with Lamping in 40th was Andrew Mlynarski, who shot consistently at 78, 77, and 77 in his three rounds.

Sophomore Brad Burgess’ final round proved to be his best round, as he scored a 79. Burgess improved by one stroke in every round, but still finished in sole possession of 63rd overall in a field of 71 finishers.

Host school Penn State had five different players finish in the top 10, but as a team, the Nittany Lions only finished tied for third overall with Minnesota.

Third round play at the Rutherford International was delayed Sunday morning by two hours due to inclement weather. Teams eventually teed off at 9:30 a.m.

Ohio’s next event is the MAC Championship Tournament that will be held in Nashport, Oh., starting on Friday, May 3.
