Ohio Baseball Drops Game Two To Falcons In Extras, 7-2
< < Back to ?p=11070After winning the first game of a doubleheader with Bowling Green in extras, Ohio allowed five runs in the 10th inning of game two, falling, 7-2.
The ‘Cats and the Falcons entered extra innings tied at 2 when the Bowling Green blew the door open.
The Falcons got three singles in the top of the 10th inning, and Brandon Howard knocked in a run with a bases-loaded hit. Then, Bowling Green scored another run on a walk by ‘Cats pitcher Logan Cozart.
Nick Glanzman followed by reaching first base on a costly error by left fielder Tyler Wells, which allowed three unearned runs to score for the Falcons.
Connor Sitz started the game on the hill for the Bobcats and went a strong 7.2 innings. He gave up two runs on five hits and allowed three walks. Sitz (2-6) received a no decision for his efforts.
Cozart took the loss and fell to 1-5 on the season.
Bowling Green starter Mike Frank held the ‘Cats to only four hits in game two.
Frank pitched a 10-inning complete game, giving up two runs with four strikeouts. He picked up his fourth win on the season to move to 4-7 overall.
Two of Ohio’s four hits came from Tyler Wells, who came around to score one of the two Bobcat runs on the day.
Howard led the way for the Falcons, going 3-5 with two RBIs and a run scored.
The Bobcats are now 13-36 on the year, with an 8-15 record in MAC play.
Ohio will take on Bowling Green Sunday afternoon in a series rubber match. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
