WV Man Charged With Threatening Obama
< < Back to wv-man-charged-threatening-obamaA Marshall County man faces federal charges of threatening President Barack Obama and the president's family in a letter filled with profanity and racial slurs.
Federal court records say Ryan Kirker, 20, of McMechen is accused of sending a letter to the White House in April that closed with the phrase, "KKK forever."
An affidavit from a U.S. Secret Service agent says forensic experts also determined that Kirker had written of his plan to someone named John in late March.
That letter allegedly mentioned a weapon and his ability to obtain armor-piercing ammunition.
Kirker is being held at the Northern Regional Jail and is scheduled to appear before a federal magistrate Tuesday.
Two defense attorneys have been retained, but neither immediately commented.
