Kuhn To Join RedStorm Softball
< < Back to kuhn-join-redstorm-softballAlex Kuhn was revealed as a new addition to the Rio Grande softball team Wednesday by head coach Kristen Bradshaw, according to RioRedStorm.com. Kuhn is a recent graduate from Oak Hill High School.
Kuhn is a middle infielder who batted around the .400 mark all season for the Oaks. She was named first team All-Southern Ohio Conference her junior and senior year of high school. Along with her All-SOC award, she was also nominated to the first team All-Southeast District during her senior season.
Kuhn played varsity softball all four years at Oak Hill.
“Playing college softball is something I truly started pursuing when I first started playing travel ball when I was nine years old,” she told RioRedStorm.com. Kuhn also received interest to play at Division II Cedarville (Ohio) University.
Kuhn stated that Bradshaw was one of the main reasons she chose to sign with the Red Storm.
“When I met with coach Bradshaw I knew I wanted to play on her team,” she said. "Her enthusiasm toward the team and the game was so inspiring. I wanted to be a part of it."
The RedStorm are looking to rebuild their infield after the departure of their first, second and third basemen. On top of that, their senior class combined for 35.3% of the team’s hits and 30% of the RedStorm’s RBI’s.
Bradshaw will be entering her third season as the head coach for the RedStorm this spring. She led them to a 22-19 record last season, where they finished seventh out of eight teams in the Mid-Southern Conference.
