Huntington Police Officer J. Talbert says that a man crashed into a concrete barrier Thursday evening in an attempt to drive off the 31st Street Bridge.
Eighteen-year-old Taylor Moore of Huntington saw the driver get out of the car and jump off the bridge. She yelled to her father, Newt Moore, who turned and saw the man hit the water.
Newt Moore, Tom Nibert of Proctorville and Bill Toney and Mike Floyd of Huntington jumped onto Moore's boat and raced to the man's rescue. The man was clinging to tree limbs when they pulled him aboard the boat. Emergency responders transported him to St. Mary's Medical Center.
