Power Line Repairs Close Road For Several Hours
< < Back to power-line-repairs-close-road-several-hoursUPDATE 1:48 p.m. A spokesperson for American Electric Power says a fallen tree forced crews to close a portion of Long Run Road as they worked on repairing damaged power lines.
AEP Ohio says a large tree took down six spans of power lines around 1 a.m. Friday morning. The length of wire between two power poles is considered one span.
The downed lines left 236 customers without power. AEP says crews finished repairs around 8:30 a.m. Friday.
UPDATE 12:03 p.m. Long Run Road is back open.
Drivers heading down Long Run Road in Athens are advised to take another route.
The road is closed off near U.S. Route 33/50 east bound at the Stimson Avenue exit.
