Parts Of Region Under Flash Flood Watch

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch throughout the region. 

The watch is issued in Ohio throughout the evening Friday in the following counties: Athens, Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Vinton, Perry, Morgan and Washington counties.

Fairfield, Hocking, Licking, Pickaway, Pike, and Scioto counties in Ohio are under a Flash Flood Watch until 6 p.m. Friday.

The watch also includes the following counties in West Virginia: Pleasants, Wood, Wirt, Wayne, Putnam, Roane, Mason, Lincoln, Jackson, and Cabell.

According to the report, the threat of showers and a chance of thunderstorms will continue throughout Friday afternoon. Heavy rain is possible with some of the storms.

The NWS advises people along streams and creeks to monitor water levels and be prepared to take action.
