Multiple Athens County Methamphetamine Busts Made

Carr Road in Athens has been the site of multiple methamphetamine lab finds in the last three days, according to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.
The Narcotics Enforcement Team and the ACSO Special Response Team executed a search warrant on Monday at a residence on the road to shut down a meth lab under investigation by the NET, according to Sheriff Patrick Kelly.
The day before, deputies were called to the Country Mall in The Plains when a “suspicion person” was seen going in and out of businesses and trash bins carrying a blue plastic bag, according to an ACSO report.
When deputies approached the businesses, the suspect left the bag behind and denied ownership of it when he approached deputies, according to the report.
Detectives Jim Heater and Doug Crites searched the bag and found ingredients used in the making of meth.
Greg Hanning, 35, of Nelsonville, was taken into custody and charged with possessing chemicals used in the making of meth. NET agents are naming him as the person of interest in the Carr Road incidents.
Also taken into custody were Trisha Lowery, 31; and Nathan Decker, 27, of Carr Road, who admitted to manufacturing meth at their home, the ACSO report stated. They also implicated Hanning in the meth cooks.
