Suspected Heroin Dealer and Woman Nabbed in Portsmouth Drug Arrest

Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware and Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said Darryl "Slim" Smith was arrested Friday night when narcotics detectives stopped a vehicle driven by Ashley Arnett in Portsmouth.
Smith, who was wanted on a federal indictment for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin, was taken into custody.
Arnett was also arrested and charged with trafficking in cocaine and oxycontin in the vicinity of a juvenile after a search of the vehicle turned up those drugs.
Two children were in the car at the time of the arrest.
Additional charges will be presented to the county grand jury.
