< < Back to warrant-issued-in-valero-attempted-robberyA warrant has been issued for a Nelsonville man in connection with the attempted robbery of a gas station on Saturday night but police already know exactly where he is.
Noel Anthony, 46, of 16047 Elm Rock Rd., Nelsonville, has been charged with one count of robbery, a felony of the second degree, according to Athens County Sheriff Rodney Smith.
A warrant for Anthony’s arrest has been issued with a bond of $50,000 without 10 percent permitted as part of that warrant.
Anthony is expected to be taken into custody when he is released from Grant Medical Center in Columbus where he is being treated for injuries sustained during the incident on Saturday night.
Anthony is alleged to have entered the Valero on North Plains Road, The Plains, at approximately 11:24 p.m., Saturday with a BB gun in an attempt to rob the store.
Store employees were able to detain Anthony until law enforcement arrived. He added that charges are not expected to be filed against the employees.
The BB gun was taken into evidence by law enforcement.
Smith anticipated Anthony to be released from the hospital on Tuesday, with an initial court appearance on the charges to occur on Wednesday.
