Jackson Faces Toughest Opponent Yet
< < Back to jackson-faces-toughest-opponent-yetJackson returns to the road this week as they head to Ironton to face the 4-2 Tigers. The Ironmen are coming off another dominant victory over Portsmouth and look to stay undefeated. That victory marked the 15th straight regular season win for the Ironmen, a school record.
Their streak is about to face it's toughest opponent yet in this matchup. While the Tigers have lost two games, those to opponents combine for a 12-1 record. Ironton's rush attack will be a true test of the impressive Jackson defense. The boys in red have intercepted 14 passes this season and also have a turnover ratio of plus 14 on their opponents. Keeping turnovers low will be key in this matchup because starting field position may be the most important stat Friday. This should be a pad-popping, physical game fought in the trenches and Jackson seems to have the edge on the ground game. Kick-off is set for 7:30 at Tanks Memorial Stadium.
