Police Investigating Shooting Of Athens Resident

Athens City Police are investigating in incident in which a 29-year-old Athens resident was transported to the hospital Monday afternoon after being shot in the head.
According to a news release from the police department, officers were called to the O'Bleness Memorial Hospital Emergency Room on Tuesday at 12:20 p.m. regarding a subject being treated for a gunshot wound to the head.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that the 29-year-old was being prepped for transport to Grant Medical Center in Columbus for the wound.
Police are not releasing any additional info at this time.
