Backers of Pot Legalization Plan Ohio Tour Promoting Issue
< < Back to backers-of-pot-legalization-plan-ohio-tour-promoting-issueCOLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Backers of a marijuana legalization effort in Ohio say they are planning a statewide bus tour to promote the ballot issue ahead of the fall election.
The group ResponsibleOhio made the announcement Monday, as the issue’s opponents were gearing up to formally launch their campaign later in the day.
The proposed amendment seeks to legalize marijuana for medicinal and recreational use. It would allow adults 21 and over to buy marijuana and would establish a network of 10 authorized growing locations around Ohio.
Passage of the amendment would make Ohio a rare state to go from entirely outlawing marijuana to allowing it for all uses in a single vote.
Their effort comes as a separate fall ballot issue takes aim at the growing sites described in the proposed amendment.
