< < Back to faulty-brakes-responsible-fatal-suv-accidentAuthorities say the brakes on a sport utility vehicle may have failed before it sped through an intersection and hit two parked cars, killing a central Ohio woman and seriously injuring her husband.
The SUV ended up overturned on a restaurant patio Tuesday in Coshocton. The sheriff's office estimated the SUV was traveling 60 mph when the crash occurred.
A 68-year-old Columbus woman died at the scene. Her 70-year-old husband was flown to a Columbus hospital in serious condition.
The 28-year-old Coshocton man driving the SUV was treated for minor injuries. Deputy Mark Sharrock said the man doesn't have a valid driver's license.
No other injuries were reported, and no charges were immediately filed.
