Free Milk for Federal Hocking
< < Back to free-milk-for-federal-hockingFor Federal Hocking students, lunch come Monday, might be different.
In Tuesday’s Board meeting, Superintendent George Wood proposed all students who pack their lunch should also receive free milk.
The district currently provides free breakfast and lunch to all students. Wood said there is concern that students who pack lunch also get a free lunch in order to receive free milk, but then throw away their hot lunch.
Wood said about 200 students bring their lunch to school and the cost of milk for these students would be $9,100 per year.
At the board meeting, Wood said there is still paperwork to finish but hopes the students can receive free milk starting next week.
