Following a tough loss to the Toledo Rockets on Friday, the Bobcats looked to comeback today against Ball State, but couldn’t quite deliver. Ohio ended its weekend play with a 1-1 tie in Muncie, leaving it 6-7-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the MAC.

The Bobcats started strong with a goal by Kelsey Pichel in the eighth minute of the game, which made the score 1-0. The 'Cats offensive attack continued throughout the remainder of the first half, but they were unable to find the net a second time.

The second half proved to be all Ball State as just two minutes into the second half the Cardinals scored an equalizer.

Despite the pressure from BSU’s offense, the Bobcats defense stayed strong and at the end of the second half, the score remained 1-1. Goalkeeper Mattie Liston stepped up, showcasing her goaltending skills by saving 10 shots, three of which came back-to-back-to-back in the 50th minute of the game.

The game was taken to overtime to settle the score, but still no shots were converted. Kelsey Pichel was issued a yellow card and substituted out for Rachael Philpot for the remainder of overtime.

With a loss and a tie against MAC competition on the road this weekend, the Bobcats have to step up their game when they face off against Miami and Bowling Green next weekend at home.
