Montgomery County authorities say Mary Kilby faced the charge stemming from the death of 14-year-old Makayla Norman. Authorities said the girl had cerebral palsy and weighed only 28 pounds.
Attorney Dennis Lieberman said Friday it’s been “a long road” for Kilby, who has expressed remorse. She will be sentenced Nov. 10 on the misdemeanor count.
Kilby was convicted earlier in felony court on a count of failing to provide for a functionally impaired child and was sentenced to probation.
Two other nurses have been convicted in the case. The girl’s mother, Angela Norman, was sentenced to nine years for involuntary manslaughter.
