Former Hocking Co. Deputy Indicted on Felony Charge
< < Back to former-hocking-co-deputy-indicted-on-felony-chargeA former Hocking County Sheriff’s deputy has been indicted for allegedly violating the rules and regulations of a law enforcement database.
According to a news releases from Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn, Jeremy Dye was indicted by a Hocking County grand jury for one count of unauthorized use of the Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway, which is a fifth degree felony.
Blackburn said in April 2014, while a deputy with the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office, Dye was accused of “disseminating an OHLEG report against the rules and regulations of the Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway.”
Dye appeared before a judge and was released on his own recognizance.
Blackburn served as a special prosecutor for this case.
