ARTS/West to Upgrade Sound System
< < Back to artswest-to-upgrade-sound-systemARTS/West is pleased to announce that they have received a $1,740 grant from the Athens Foundation to upgrade their sound system from analog to digital. Local sound technician, David Eubanks, was approached earlier this year about upgrading the sound system and switching to digital was a logical choice based on the current set-up of the building. The switch to digital will allow the sound technician to move anywhere within the Robert L. Winters Memorial Performance Space and make changes by using an iPad. With the current set-up, the technician was required to adjust levels in the booth and move into the space to check the sound. The new set-up will allow for much for flexibility as well as increase the monitor channels.
ARTS/West will be working with David Eubanks on offering several tutorials in the late Summer/early Fall that will be free and open to the public to learn the new system. Please check www.artswest.blogspot.com for dates and more information. Currently there is one scheduled for Friday, June 10 at 1 p.m. for the OVST Summer Youth Theater Camp. If you are interested in attending this tutorial, please email Chelsa Morahan at cpeterson@ci.athens.oh.us to make sure they have not met maximum capacity.
