Vigil For Orlando To Be Held On OU’s College Green

Ohio University and the Athens community are coming together Monday night to hold a vigil for those impacted by the shooting that killed at least 50 in Orlando on Sunday.
The vigil will be from 6 p.m to 7 p.m. at the site of the Civil War Monument on College Green, and is being hosted by the OU LGBT Center, according to a Facebook page about the event.
This isn’t a time to make into a political conversation or to assign blame to anyone,” OU LGBT Director Delfin Bautista said. “It is just an opportunity to be together as a community in solidarity not only with Orlando but ultimately in solidarity with each other.”
The City of Athens also posted the event on its website.
