State Highway Patrol Trooper Hit by Car
< < Back to state-highway-patrol-trooper-hit-by-carCHARDON, Ohio (AP) – The State Highway Patrol says a trooper was injured when he was hit by a car while he was outside his cruiser conducting a traffic stop in northeast Ohio.
The patrol says the trooper was taken to a hospital for treatment after the crash around 11 a.m. Friday on U.S. 332 in Geauga County. The extent of his injuries wasn’t known.
A dispatcher at the patrol’s Chardon post said the investigation was continuing and no other details were immediately available.
Geauga County Sheriff Lt. John Hiscox told Cleveland.com that the trooper had pulled over near the intersection and was outside his cruiser when a third car crashed into the patrol vehicle and hit the trooper.
