Bobcats Add Michigan State Transfer

First year head coach Bob Boldon announced that the Ohio University women’s basketball team has added a new face to its program on Tuesday. Michigan State transfer guard Mariah Harris will be eligible to play for the ‘Cats as a redshirt junior at the conclusion of the 2014 fall semester.
Harris appeared in 11 games off the bench for Michigan State as a freshman in 2012-13. Harris played in Michigan State’s NCAA Tournament Second Round contest against Maryland on March 25. She saw action in seven games for the Spartans in the fall.
Harris averaged 15.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 4.1 steals, and tallied 11 triple-doubles during her prep career at Kenton Ridge. The Springfield, Ohio native was a second team all-state selection and scored 1,500 points while attending Kenton Ridge. She was named the 2012 Ohio High School Coaches Association Division II Player of the Year her senior year after earning special mention all-state honors from the AP and OHSAA as a junior.
Harris competed at the AAU level for Ohio Glory under then-head coach Marwan Miller, who is now the Ohio women’s basketball director of operations.
The Ohio women’s basketball team will look to end its 10-game losing skid on Thursday night as the ‘Cats host Buffalo at 7 p.m.
