Ohioans Dispose Of 14 Tons Of Unused Prescription Drugs
< < Back to ohioans-dispose-of-14-tons-of-unused-prescription-drugsCOLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Authorities say Ohioans disposed of about 14 tons of unneeded, unwanted or expired prescription drugs during the recent National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
The annual U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration initiative was held Saturday. It targets unused prescription drugs because the medications can be accidentally ingested, stolen or abused.
Last year, the government said Ohioans dropped off 13.5 tons of drugs.
People who still have unneeded prescription drugs can drop them off at collection sites across the state.
