Pendy Joins Ohio’s Women’s Golf
< < Back toMichigan High School Division I Individual State champion, Lily Pendy,will join the Ohio University women’s golf program in 2014-15, sixth-year head coach Kelly Ovington announced on Tuesday.
Pendy won the 2013 Michigan state crown as a senior at Grosse Point South High School by six shots with scores of 74 and 76 after earning medalist honors at regionals. She was also named to the Michigan Super Team as a senior, an honored reserved to the top eight golfers in Michigan.
Pendy earned all-state awards as a sophomore and junior after earning Honorable Mention as a freshman. The two-time MVP winner earned All-Macomb Area Conference and academic all-conference honors all four years of her prep career and led the Blue Devils to a state title as a sophomore.
She will join fellow Michigan native and freshman golfer Hailey Hrynewich on the Bobcats roster. Hrynewich earned All-State Division II honors during her freshman and junior seasons at Led Mona Shores High School and was also named to the Michigan Super Team as a senior.
Ohio returns to action on March 23 for the 2014 Morehead State University Ocala Spring Collegiate Invitational.
