Sewer Upgrades for West Virginia Counties
< < Back to sewer-upgrades-for-west-virginia-countiesMORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) – West Virginia’s U.S. senators have announced $5.3 million in federal funding for sewer project in two counties.
According to Sens. Shelley Moore Capito and Joe Manchin, the U.S. Department of Agriculture will loan $3.6 million to the Jefferson County Public Service District to improve its sewer system.
The USDA also has approved a $912,000 loan and $800,000 grant to the Malden Public Service District in Kanawha County to improve its wastewater treatment plant.
The lawmakers say water infrastructure projects are essential to residents’ health, quality of life and economic development.
