Scioto County Man Arrested On Meth Charges
< < Back toA Lucasville man is in jail on charges relating to the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Paul Wampler was arrested by detectives from the Scioto County Sheriff's Office and the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force on Tuesday, after a search of his home revealed chemicals and materials used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.
Detectives also discovered a suspected "active" pseudoephedrine extraction in a soda pop bottle in the residence. Pseudoephedrine is a precursor to methamphetamine and is commonly found in many nasal decongestants.
Wampler was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, a felony of the second degree, and illegal assembly and/or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of methamphetamine, a felony of the third degree.
Wampler was placed in the Scioto County Jail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Portsmouth Municipal Court Wednesday morning. He is also awaiting sentencing in Scioto County Common Pleas Court after pleading guilty to felony possession of methamphetamine earlier this year.
