Food History: A Presidential Proceeding

September 18, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

TBA

Washington slept here, but Taft ATE here! In 1910, President Taft spent the day in Marietta. The city’s sidewalks were congested with hundreds during the parade for Taft and thousands crowded into Muskingum Park to hear him speak. However, his lunch was a quiet affair at the Mills House (now the home of the Marietta College President.) Taft’s appearance in Marietta was part of the festivities around Marietta College’s 75th Anniversary celebrations. Accompanying your Taft inspired courses, will be presentations on Taft’s visit here, the festivities of the 75th anniversary, and what research and work went into preparing this meal. Check our Facebook page for updates on this program.
