Capcik, Hillstrom Named Academic All-MAC
< < Back to capcik-hillstrom-named-academic-all-macOhio senior divers Kristin Capcik and MaryRose Hillstrom were each named Academic All-MAC for the third time in their careers, the Mid-American Conference announced Wednesday morning. Teammates Morgan Srail, Haley Clark and Michelle Gasior earned Academic All-MAC honorable mention recognition.
Hillstrom is one of only two athletes honored with a 4.0 GPA, all while studying integrated mathematics. She recorded the third-best three-meter dive score (281.18) and the fourth-best one-meter dive score (291.97) in the MAC last season.
Capcik qualified for NCAA Zones three times in her career and posted the second best score in the one-meter (304.95) and third best score in the three-meter (327.38) in the MAC. Outside the pool, she has a 3.938 cumulative GPA in her bios pre-professional major. She is also the president of Ohio’s Athletes In Action organization.
Srail has managed a 3.267 GPA in her three years at Ohio, giving her an honorable mention, all while setting records during competition. 339.05 was the magic number, as she earned the 2014 MAC title on the three-meter board. Srail was also recognized with First Team All-MAC honors after her performance at the conference tournament.
Clark, a sophomore, paired her 3.585 GPA, with the conference’s second best time in the 50-yard freestyle (23.43).
Gasior, a junior, maintained a 3.219 GPA while studying pre-exercise physiology.
