Field Hockey Prepares For NCAA Tournament
< < Back to field-hockeyOhio University Field Hockey sits a top the Mid-American Conference.
The Bobcats took down Miami University (OH) and Kentucky State University in the MAC championship tournament.
The team sitting at 18-4, are two wins away from matching their most successful season ever.
1982 was the only year the Bobcats have ever posted 20 wins.
To have a shot at the victories record, the green and white will need to get past the Patriot League Champion Lafayette Leopards.
At 11-8, the Leopards will play the Bobcats Tuesday in an NCAA tournament play-in game.
The two teams come into the matchup almost total strangers.
“[We’ve] got to find something out about Lafayette. We don’t know too much about them, we didn’t have any reason to scout them this year,” said Head Coach Neil Macmillan.
Ohio has the best scoring defense in the nation, allowing only 16 goals in their 22 games.
Lafayette, meanwhile, ranks number 31 in the same category, allowing 34 goals in 19 games.
The game is slated to begin at 1 p.m., Tuesday.
