Attorney General Mike DeWine says in a release Friday that authorities arrested a man who identified himself as Xavier Freeman of New York after receiving information that the man allegedly was running a prostitution service out of a Marietta hotel room. Investigators said the suspect was found with several adult females, including three women who were allegedly being held against their will.
DeWine says the suspect was arrested Thursday on charges of human trafficking, compelling prostitution, promoting prostitution and drug possession. Washington County jail records on Saturday didn't list an attorney for Freeman.
Authorities are working to verify the suspect's identity as the investigation continues.
