Tri-Valley Picks Up 27th-Straight MVL Win, Dominate Morgan 69-0

Logan Bash scampered down the sideline for a 43-yard score on Tri-Valley’s first offensive play and the Scotties never looked back, defeating the visiting Morgan Raiders 69-0 on Friday night in Dresden. It marks the 27th-straight league victory for the Scotties.
“The offensive line just opened up a great hole,” Bash said of the touchdown run. “I was able to bounce it outside and beat them with speed.”
Bash, a senior, scored twice on the ground and once on a catch-and-run totaling 118 yards to lead Tri-Valley (2-0, 1-0 MVL) to a convincing victory in their home opener at Jack Anderson Stadium.
Morgan (0-2, 0-1 MVL) was stifled by the aggressive Scottie defense, tallying just four first downs in the game. The Raiders failed to cross into Tri-Valley territory until 9:14 in the fourth.
Tri-Valley outgained Morgan 454-72 on the night, despite the fact that each team ran the same number of plays (41.) The Scotties led 48-0 at halftime.
Tri-Valley QB Brock Fargus went 5-10 for 116 yards through the air, and three of his five completions went for touchdowns. Fargus rushed for 32 yards on five carries as well. Jake Mohler replaced Fargus in the second half and rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on just three carries.
Running back Daniel “Bubby” Scott aided the attack with two one-yard touchdown runs of his own. He was one of six different Scotties to score in the blowout victory.
Dylan Johnson led the Morgan on offense, rushing for 41 yards on 10 carries, but he didn’t have much help. Morgan quarterback Braydon Hoskinson, went 3-9 for just 17 yards.
Despite routing the Raiders, Tri-Valley head coach Justin Buttermore knows there is still plenty of room for his team to improve.
“I thought we were a little sloppy at times,” Buttermore said. “There were a few things inside the red zone that I think we need to clean up.”
Morgan will look to rebound when they face New Lexington at home (0-2, 0-1 MVL) next week. Meanwhile, Tri-Valley hopes to stay perfect when they take on Crooksville (1-1, 0-1 MVL) at home as well.
