ACEnet Bringing Value Chains Grant Program To Southeast Ohio
< < Back to acenet-bringing-value-chains-grant-program-southeast-ohioThe Appalachian Center for Economic Networks (ACEnet) of Athens and Rural Action of Trimble are bringing the Central Appalachian Networks Value Chains Small Grants Program to southeast Ohio.
ACEnet president Angie Hawk Maiden says the program is geared toward finding gaps in the path from agriculture producer to market.
Hawk Maiden says producers in Athens, Washington, Meigs, Perry, Morgan, Gallia and Vinton Counties are the main focus.
She says grant money is available to those who participate in the value chains program.
"The organizations…can use it to identify equipment or programming needs that they have have to be able to build on what exists in their own area. So each one will be a little bit different. We understand that the importance is that it's locally-based and so there's some flexibility for them to do what they need to do to move producers forward," said Hawk Maiden.
There will be two informational meetings for those interested.
The first will be Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. at the McConnellsville public library. The other will be Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. at the Pomeroy library.
