The 2019 Women’s March in Athens will be held on Saturday, January 19th, from 1 – 3 pm. Speakers will kick off the rally at Scripps Amphitheater. Marchers will walk, sing, and make our voices heard up Court St., where additional leaders and activists will share their message. The March will culminate at Howard Green Site, at the corner of College and Union St., where local organizations will have tables and refreshments. Featured speakers include Lori Crook from Nelsonville and Iris Cooke, an 11-year old girl from Athens. Local issues will be the focus of this year’s march, with healing justice as its theme. The March is sponsored by the Ohio University LGBT Center, United Campus Ministry, ISO, DSA, and Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio. An interpreter will be providing American Sign Language interpretation.
